The illustrations of Juliette Barbanègre

Paris-based illustrator Juliette Barbanègre creates extraordinary stories, where fantastic worlds collide and mysterious creatures come to life to express complex concepts and ideas. From giant characters and empty souls to living jungles and stones, her works are excellently outlined, with a creative use of color and balanced black and white choice, depending on the topic the artist wants to highlight.

We notice that the characters rarely have a clear identity, even physical features are reduced to the eyes and mouth, and sometimes to body parts (hands and feet) or clothing and accessories. They are like light and dark shadows, wandering through the jungle, a recurrent motif in the illustrations of Juliette Barbanègre, infinite, powerful and alive.
