In his thought-provoking sculptures, Iván Prieto presents distorted characters, often with their eyes closed or hidden and their human features transformed into grotesque imperfections that may reflect the deformation of the individual in today’s social contexts, his inner struggles, pressures and weaknesses.
These mysterious creatures find themselves in bizarre and ironic situations, the artist managing to surprise certain moments and expressions that highlight the unfortunate and sometimes disturbing condition and faith of the characters.
