Flaviu Moldovan: Dialogue with the Superior Self
Often referring to music as a gateway towards accessing a visionary state of mind, Cluj-Napoca based visual artist Flaviu Moldovan creates immersive paintings and drawings celebrating the spiritual voyage of self-discovery and the experience of here and now.
Although some resemble human beings, his characters are composed of geometrical shapes and natural elements, and depicted in wonder, meditation or inner communication, alone or together with what seems to be a duplicated version of themselves. According to the artist, they are “pure representations of our ancestral inner technology”: “The mimics of my portraits are perplexed, as they have met an ambiguous future. All these sensations and emotions come from inside a simple man, a peasant facing machines; an archaic I engaged in a full time dialogue with his superior self.”
This revelation of the self is an awakening moment, powerful as it comes with a deeper understanding and multidimensional perspective of the complexity of an infinite Universe, allowing us to gradually unfold its mysteries and find the answers within.
