BLO – Dreams Have No Titles @ Swinton Gallery

Swinton Gallery is hosting the personal exhibition “Dreams Have No Titles” by Berlin-based artist BLO, previously featured on The re:art, running through June 27th, 2015 (Miguel Servet 21, 28012, Madrid).

In his current solo show, BLO creates a powerfully carnal representation of dreams, where the self either duplicates, gently dissolves into the other or experiences a distortion or confrontation, outlined through pastel hues and the unexpected intrusion of lines and firm strokes, guiding the viewer towards deciphering the hidden thoughts, pleasures and struggles of its ambivalent characters.

In a society where individuals have become so obsessed with what others think of their behavior, praised for their right conduct and risking exclusion and rejection for any wrong action, the artist’s works offer a moment of liberation, of putting aside the masks and destroying, at least temporary, while we dream, the symbols of limitation, letting both the dark and enlightening sides of our inner world reveal themselves freely, in a graceful mix of mythical elements, meaningful gestures and cosmic abstraction.
