Digital art by Kyuin Shim
Digital artist and sculptor Kyuin Shim shows a great interest in the human body and in human emotions. He distorts body features to align to his own vision, concepts and themes, with a powerful visual impact.
We notice in certain series that the same character, for instance, goes through various stages, from a lonely and desperate embrace to complete meltdown, that may be both of physical and psychological nature.
There is quite a difference of artistic approach and emotional impact between the black series and the white ones. Nonetheless, the works are thought-provoking, taking us from a human cry that one perhaps identifies with nowadays, to a more meditative state, but at the same time limited within a given space and freedom.
Part of ‘Black Black’ series / According to the artist, the original title is ‘흑흑’. This title has two meanings in Korean language: cry cry and black black.
‘Bowl’
