Enric Sant: Journey to the present

‘Vieja hacia el presente’ (‘Journey to the present’) is the first solo show by Enric Sant hosted by Montana Gallery Barcelona, open through December 6th, 2014.

The exhibition reveals an interesting vision of the world, where curious creatures, organic shapes and fleshy bodies, are the protagonists in a varied series of paintings and ink drawings.

The works, some of them juxtaposed to create narratives, reflect, according to the gallery, the “desires and fears of people and their relationship with a man-made environment”. The works convey, indeed, a sense of deceit, resignation and lost hope in a reality that the individual no longer masters, but there also might be a suggestion, in this world that seems of no escape, of a constant search for a salvation beyond the limits of one’s universe, in line with others or through inner struggles.
