Bayo / The ego as inner confrontation
Austin-based artist Bayo exposes the subconscious state of man today, who is driven by his ego, false dreams and emotions which dictate his every move and action, as he is nothing else but a prisoner of endless inner conflicts and exhausting struggles between positive and destructive energies.
The world of Bayo expresses deep melancholia, inertia, anxiety and lack of clear direction. There are both psychological and physical marks of these feelings carefully highlighted on the gestures and features of each character, which seem to resign to their overwhelming emotions. Fragile, weak and unsure, they are only guided by fears and primary instincts towards a repetitive reality that ends up devouring them.
