A private initiative of Lars Bonde and Mads Mulvad, WE AArt – Urban Art Project 2014, the first festival in Denmark focused entirely on murals, took place in Aalborg, from August 21st to September 10th.
The idea of the project was to enrich the urban space with contemporary art through a mural project with 10 walls painted by 10 international artists – Aryz, Franco Fasoli – JAZ, Escif, AEC & Waone (Interesni Kazki), Alexis Diaz, Fintan Magee, LIQEN, Kenor, and Don John, the only Danish artist in the line-up.
WE AArt is a project “intending to create and add new ways of expressions, as an inspiration and innovation for rethinking our view of public space in our city. A space created to surprise, marvel and excite – and susceptible to alternative artistic arenas”.
