NAG #7 Recap
On May 24, 2013, we visited a series of exhibitions part of the NAG #7 – White Night of the Art Galleries.
“BOLD is a measure unit of personal commitment in one’s own art, it is a turn of meaning towards the introverted, individualistic side, on the principle that each individual acting exemplary gives qualitative content to the world and time he lives in. The ideatic gesture is meant to be from micro to macro, from the individual/artist towards society/culture, from subjective sincerity towards an objective analysis of the cultural spectrum, in search of an existential, conceptual and artistic binder”.
Artists: George Anghelescu, Matei Branea, Irina Broboană, Codruța Cernea, Flavia Lupu, Noper, Ștefan Ungureanu, Daniela Vîrlan.
Creatively exploring the rabbits theme, 18 Romanian artists joined forces and offered visitors an artistic playground on NAG #7: Airam & Eu Pistoll, Justin Baroncea, Traian Boldea, Matei Branea, Mihai Bulf, Radu Burduj, Coughy, Silviu Dancea, Anca Dima, Florin Pantilimon, Nicolas Papagheorghe, Adrian Popescu, Adrian Preda, Lea Rasovszky, Roman Tolici, Simona Vilău, Daniela Vîrlan.
“At Home Mătăsari the artistic initiatives are launched with the purpose of reflecting and in the same time of offering alternatives of the urban realities, in which the house is located, to the disadvantage of a radical hostile discourse. In this context, the artist receives the function of mediation between the discourse of the neighborhood and the society and responsible authorities”.
