Marla Morgenstern – the indefinite nature of existence
As long as she can remember, Marla Morgenstern was interested in the indefinite nature of existence, and asking questions has been a motion fuel for her inner dynamics: “In this search for connections I started to notice the foldings of all the marvelous things I perceived onto the things I played with, created. So I started working on ‘maps’, but maps that could also express an aesthetic journey, from paintings and small sculptures to free writing and even scribbling, all cast from this compulsive urge to understand.
At one point I realised the need of a meaningful medium in which I could refine what was for me reality. The salient decision to trace through collage all I considered to be connected to certain supra individual values opened the gates of symbolic geography to a space of empathy and intimate speculation”.
