Livia Fălcaru and the bizarre representations of the human psyche
Livia Fălcaru is only 18 years old, currently studies fine arts in her last year of highschool and already works as a freelance artist, based in Galaţi, Romania.
Her passion for drawing recently combined with a new attraction to illustration and graphic design, but she also loves painting and photography: “My work is usually inspired by the flaws of human nature. I like to find beauty where nobody else does”.
Lugubrious
Livia likes to represent “the contrast between emotions such as melancholy and angst and the cute and almost childish appearance of my characters”.
Nightwalk
“I am really attracted to bizarre representations of the human psyche, which usually makes me add a dark vibe to almost any work I create. Most of my characters portray a very absent look or they seem to be isolated in their inner world. I also like to create a contrast between vibrant, beautiful colors and the rough feelings and emotions I want to express”.
Gloom
“In my opinion, perfection and beauty don’t exist and even the prettiest things or people seem to be scarred in some way. I actually find that very intriguing and I’m trying to represent this concept through my art”.
