The illustrations of Andrea Wan
The works of Berlin-based illustrator and visual artist Andrea Wan revolve around a world of dreams, memories and the subconscious, acting as a “visual diary” of emotions and enchanting stories.
The illustrations are usually personal, and the characters often resemble their author, becoming surreal self-portraits harmoniously connected to nature, to different plants and animals.
Born in Hong Kong, raised in Vancouver, with studies in illustration and design in Denmark, the style of Andrea Wan reveals a rich cultural background. In her constant travels, the artist often approached themes such as migration and created her works, mostly ink on paper, as a response to the environment, a mix of her experiences and fantastic landscapes deriving from her powerful imagination.
