The surreal figurative paintings of Alex Hall
Inspired by his own life journey and everyday struggles, going from working in sales after college to finally pursuing his dream – painting, Nashville-based artist Alex Hall creates impressive oil paintings on masonite panels.
He combines surrealism and figuration to give rise to a different kind of tension, as a result of uncertainty and the effort to achieve balance in life: “My new series ‘Relativity’ depicts individuals floating in time and space. I chose to paint the figures with no distinct faces so they would relate to every man and every woman”.
