ABSTRACT show @ BC Gallery
BC Gallery is currently hosting ‘ABSTRACT’, a group show featuring nine international artists: Ahmed Abdellatif, Clemens Behr, HENSE, Moneyless, MOMO, Nural Moser, Nelio, Severin Gruner, Stohead. The exhibition is open until November 1st, 2014, so you still have the chance to visit it if you happen to be in Berlin (opening hours: Wednesday – Saturday, 1 to 6 pm).
What differentiates this show from others focused on abstract art is the urban art background of the guest artists. For instance, you have the always surprising Clemens Behr, who juxtaposes and mixes different objects and materials to offer this time a black and white composition, interrupted by tones of grey, giving the impression of ruins, of a demolished and oddly compressed home.
Also, you can admire closely the minimalist geometry of Nelio, the circle-based visual motifs of Moneyless, a work revealing itself as a portal or a tunnel leading towards other realities, or the more colorful approach of MOMO and HENSE. At the same time, the works of Ahmed Abdellatif and Severin Gruner seem to reflect new ways to relate to ordinary objects, in what may be abstract still life representations, while Nural Moser appears to redefine geometry and lines, and Stohead writes a personal alphabet, with his own letters and symbols.
