Macro (featured) depicts the human being through the complex connections with nature, other species and the cosmos, and the various influences deriving from culture, heritage and ancestry constantly shaping man’s identity. As a reminder of the roots we share and grow from, the ink drawings show not necessarily an evolution, but the way things link to each other and how all is reflected in and part of the inner universe. The artist highlights the factors that define who we are, the organic sense of life we have lost in favor of a comfortable yet artificial environment, superficial relationships and a chaotic existence distancing ourselves from values that could enrich, not limit our lives.
There is a feeling of timelessness in the works, as a revelation that all has been as such through the ages, but we fail to further connect the dots, while some pieces refer to a certain era, as in the case of the ancient civilizations inspired series, or introduce what appear to be alien creatures travelling through planets in search of a home or knowledge. Brought together, the works of Macro create the impression of a study focused on the multitude of aspects which describe the current and future condition of man.
