The works of Bryce Wymer

The moments that remain engraved on our memory, the irrational stops and falls, the inexplicable feeling and often need of running from something, someone or ourselves, the abrupt emergence of power and the subtle retreat or tragic descent of the weak, the embrace of nature and the contrast of man’s intrusion inside its richness, the grasp of life, the disciplined yet ludic urban existence. All these fragments of stories shared by Brooklyn-based visual artist Bryce Wymer with his viewers follow his intention to address human social progression and the driving relation between the powerful and the powerless.

Mostly unnatural as appearance, with vibrant colors defining the skin, the hands and feet seem to have an important role in his works, in both illustration and sketchbook, as well as the decorative objects, through gestures expressing different emotions, tensions, absurd situations and unexpected translations of real experiences, accompanied by a strange sense of playfulness.
